BREAKING NEWS: Mandy Matsumoto (JR/Charleston Southern) was named to the Big South All-Conference team for the second consecutive season after lining up all 54 games in centerfield for CSU. The junior centerfielder led the Big South Conference with 32 stolen bases on the season and had 17 multi-hit games and six multi-stolen base games. Matsumoto finished in the top 10 in the conference in on-base percentage (.425) and hits (55) for the second straight season. She was also in the top 10 in Big South Conference in hits (27) and stolen bases (10).
BREAKING NEWS: Kristine Herdegen (JR/Carthage College) was honored as 1st Team All-Conference for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) for the 2016 season. Herdegen finished second on the team, and eighth in the CCIW with a .364 batting average (47-for-129). She added four home runs, 11 doubles and 23 RBI. Herdy landed 2016 CCIW First Team honors after she earned a spot on the 2015 CCIW Second Team. Her 47 hits on the season ranked third in the CCIW. Her 231 putouts from the catcher position was good enough for fourth in the conference.
